Love is in my air

It didn't take an hour after arriving at the Alamadome for my man crush on Kevin Love to reach new heights.

First, I sat in on his interview session. The kid is polished. He talked about the Beach Boys. He talked about his father, former NBA player Stan Love, showing him videos of the 1980s Celtics and the Showtime Lakers. "I'd like to be a breath of fresh air for the people into the old school game," Love said. Yes you are!

Then, during the UCLA practice session, he started to wow the crowd with his full-court shot attempts. I've been to plenty of these open practices over the years, and it isn't easy to make people cheer. Usually, teams go through the motions before practicing for real some place else, and the crowd watches, bored (hey, you get what you pay for -- the practices are free to the public.)

But Love missed about 20 of the long-range shots before he finally sank one, banking it in. Did he call the bank? I'm guessing yes. He called the bank. He's Kevin Love, he can do no wrong! Later tonight, he'll be juggling flaming swords on the Riverwalk.

If you go to the Alamo, watch out for the ghost of Davy Crockett, BB. And if you run into Coach Crean, tell him Hoosier Mary said, "hey!"

Be very careful around the riverwalk. Don't drink too much and fall in the river. That water is really nasty and might make your head wrinkle.

Calling that River Walk as Opposed to Brook Walk or Creak walk is a mystery to me.
